In a world where the digital economy and globalization are deeply intertwined, cross-border e-commerce has become an important engine for driving the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade and energizing regional economies. A new generation of digital technologies led by artificial intelligence (AI) is evolving rapidly, profoundly reshaping the cross-border e-commerce landscape, and propelling the sector worldwide toward intelligent development for greater transaction efficiency. At the same time, issues such as data security, consumer rights protection, intellectual property protection, and green and sustainable development are receiving growing attention. Summarizing and sharing outstanding practice cases around the world is of great significance for better sharing experiences, deepening international cooperation, and advancing the inclusive and sustainable development of cross-border e-commerce.
In 2026, World Internet Conference (WIC) launched a global initiative to solicit cross-border e-commerce practice cases. In light of the new trends in the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce, WIC selected 88 outstanding practice cases and compiled them into this Collection of Cross-border E-commerce Practice Cases. Each section is sorted alphabetically based on the initial letter of their titles, covering such topics as digital platform service innovation, AI + cross-border e-commerce, integrated innovation in supporting services, compliance and sustainable development, international cooperation and coordination, and government guidance and service innovation. Applicants included government departments , universities and research institutions, cross-border e-commerce market players, and integrated service providers.
WIC has reviewed the selected outstanding practice cases and summarized the key information and insights in this Collection. Through case sharing, this Collection aims to promote mutual learning across the global cross-border e-commerce sector, harness digital technologies such as AI to empower trade innovation, deepen international cooperation, and build an open, inclusive, secure, trustworthy, green, and sustainable global ecosystem for cross-border e-commerce, enabling more micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to share the opportunities of digital trade and injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of global trade.
