Meet in Jakarta | World Internet Conference to host symposium on cross-border e-commerce in September
As the global digital economy continues to expand, cross-border e-commerce has become a major driver of international trade, connecting markets worldwide and facilitating more efficient trade. The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence is also reshaping cross-border trade, from intelligent marketing and data-driven product selection to smart logistics, compliance and risk management, creating new opportunities for digital trade.
At the same time, the global cross-border e-commerce landscape is evolving rapidly. Differences in regulatory requirements and local business practices across countries are increasing both compliance costs and operational complexity. How to address structural challenges through technological innovation, reduce trade barriers through greater regulatory coordination, and unlock new growth potential through closer collaboration has become a shared focus across the industry.
To promote international exchange and cooperation in cross-border e-commerce, the World Internet Conference will host the International Symposium on Cross-Border E-Commerce under the theme "Silk Road Links Businesses, Smart Trade for Win-Win" on Sept 3 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Focusing on the latest trends in global digital trade, the symposium will provide a high-level platform for multilateral exchange. Representatives from government agencies, business and academia around the world will discuss key topics including innovation in cross-border e-commerce, localized operations in overseas markets, and the reshaping of global supply chain ecosystems.
We warmly invite members of the global cross-border e-commerce community to gather in Jakarta, explore new paths for industry development and embrace new opportunities in digital trade.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
