48 hours: Endless possibilities
The 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum concluded successfully on July 22 in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
The event drew nearly 800 representatives from over 50 countries and regions, as well as seven international organizations.
They exchanged ideas and explored new pathways for international cooperation in the digital era. Discussions focused on a wide range topics, such as Digital Silk Road e-commerce cooperation, AI agents, cultural heritage protection, and digital health.
The forum has further strengthened the platform for exchanges and cooperation among countries and regions along the Digital Silk Road — contributing new insights and solutions to global digital economy governance and cultural heritage preservation.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
