
The 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum was held on July 21-22 in the city of Xi'an, capital of China's Northwest Shaanxi province — the historic starting point of the ancient Silk Road.
The event was held under the theme "Pooling Intelligence on the Silk Road, Embarking on a Digital Future - Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace."
It brought together government ministers, senior officials of international organization, industry leaders and experts for in-depth dialogues on the theme.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
