The World Internet Conference (WIC) Open Day took place at Asia Financial Center in Beijing from July 14 to 15. Bringing together more than 80 institutions from 16 countries and regions worldwide, the event offered the general public an opportunity to experience cutting-edge digital innovations and embrace diverse cultures.

Tech enthusiasts, culture lovers, and families enjoying the summer holiday gathered at the venue for immersive experiences. Visitors learned about the WIC's missions and achievements before moving on to the Digital-Intelligent Zone, where over 30 leading global internet enterprises showcased their innovations. Through interactive, real-world exhibits, the zone vividly demonstrated how digital technologies are advancing industrial upgrading, improving people’s well-being and reshaping the way we live and work.

At the Cultural Heritage Digitalization & Cultural Experience Zone,multiple renowned cultural and museum institutions presented digital heritage projects and distinctive cultural and creative products. Live demonstrations by inheritors of intangible cultural heritage brought traditional craftsmanship to life, captivating audiences and earning rounds of applause and cheers.

In addition to its interactive technology exhibits, the event also featured an International Cultural Integration Zone, where visitors experienced the rich cultural traditions of Ethiopia, Ghana, Venezuela, Peru, Nepal, Tunisia, Afghanistan and Barbados at booths hosted by their embassies. Participants in the WIC Digital & AI Academy's training programs also joined a study tour during the event, deepening their understanding of global digital governance through first-hand observation.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
