
The World Internet Conference Awards for Pioneering Science and Technology (WIC Awards) is a prestigious international award in the field of internet and information technology. The award aims to honor outstanding achievements across basic research, disruptive technological breakthroughs, and innovative application solutions. The WIC Awards ceremony will held during the Wuzhen Summit and broadcast globally on major platforms.
How to efficiently prepare your submission? This guide walks you through step by step.
1. Application process and key reminders
Step 1: Register and choose the appropriate application category
WIC application platform:

First-time users need to register an account; existing users can log in directly.
After logging in, enter the “World Internet Conference Awards for Pioneering Science and Technology” application section and click “New Application” to begin your submission.


Step 2: Fill in basic information and accurately select “Achievement Category” and “Achievement Area”
Basic information includes achievement name, organization, country/region, contributors, achievement category, field and contact information. Please complete in both Chinese and English.
Reminder: Each contributor will receive an individual certificate of honor. Up to 20 contributors may be listed for each achievement.
If there are joint applicants, indicate contributions in Importance of the Partnership.
Reminder: If the achievement involves international joint R&D or collaboration, joint application can better highlights global cooperation and technological impact.

Achievements are divided into three categories. Please select the category that best matches your achievement.
Quick guide:
Leading theoretical innovation → Basic Research
Breaking through technical bottlenecks → Key Technology
Achieving economies of scale → Engineering R&D
Reminder: Click attachment to view the introductions to the WIC Awards and review the evaluation criteria to help you select the most appropriate achievement category.

Please accurately select the Achievement Area (up to 2 areas). Expert reviewers will be matched based on the selection.

Step 3: Fill in submission materials
Each category has different focus areas; provide required information accordingly.
Reminder: Support your application with objective evidence such as papers, patents and other supporting materials. For statements such as “world’s largest” or “world-leading,” provide supporting materials to facilitate expert review. Objective, evidence-based submission materials are more likely to gain recognition.
Step 4: Upload supporting materials
Reminder: Well-prepared supporting materials can help improve the success rate of the review process.
Core materials (recommended): papers, patents, awards
Supplementary materials: international standards, software copyright, evaluation reports, peer citations and reviews, application proofs, etc.
Upload guidelines: No limit on the number of attachments (each file must not exceed 5MB); organize materials by category and place core materials first and may attach a Chinese-English index list if there are many materials; name files in both Chinese and English.


Step 5: Save draft and submit for review
Drafts can be saved at anytime during the editing process. Confirm accuracy before clicking “Submit.”

The system will automatically close after the deadline. Early submission is recommended to allow sufficient time for formal review feedback and further improvement of submission materials.
