

AI Security and Governance Forum is set to take place in Hong Kong on April 14 as part of the 2026 World Internet Conference (WIC) Asia-Pacific Summit.
The event will bring together government officials, representatives of international organizations, academics and industry leaders to discuss strategies for AI safety and explore pathways for global governance, pooling wisdom from the Asia-Pacific region and jointly charting the course towards a secure, trustworthy and inclusive AI ecosystem.
The forum, themed on AI Security Governance, Safeguarding a New Area of Human Development, will feature discussions on global AI governance, the AI safety governance framework 2.0 and risks tied to AI agents.
Participants will examine regulatory approaches, technological vulnerabilities, standards setting and international cooperation, alongside concerns over safety risks and potential spillover effects arising from rapid evolution of AI.
Discussions will also explore more practical and actionable pathways for international collaboration to strengthen global AI safety governance.
The forum is organized by the CNCERT/CC, Zhongguancun Laboratory, CACS, with support from Sangfor Technologies Inc., CERNET Co., Ltd., Hygon Information Technology Co., Ltd.
The 2026 WIC Asia-Pacific Summit will be held in Hong Kong on April 13 - 14.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
