The World Internet Conference (WIC) will hold the 2026 Asia-Pacific Summit in Hong Kong on April 13 and 14, the organization announced at a press briefing in Beijing on March 17.

Organized by the WIC and hosted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the summit is co-organized by the Hong Kong Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, with support from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. 

Under the theme “Digital and Intelligent Empowerment for Innovative Development—Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace,” the event will feature an opening ceremony, a main forum, and sub-forums on topics such as innovation and application of AI agent, digital finance, AI security and governance, AI for better life, digital and intelligent health, and the digitalization and dissemination of classical texts. The summit aims to explore new markets and foster cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region.

Side events that will take place during the summit include Ministerial Meeting, Government-Enterprise Dialogue, Capacity Building on AI and Cybersecurity, an AI security themed salon, as well as the release of more than ten research reports on AI governance and other related topics.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
