

Rhydhi Gupta is a lawyer and public policy professional who was selected as one of eight global fellows for the Virginia Tech Leadership in Technology Fellowship (2024-2025). Her research focuses on data protection from a child-centered perspective, seeking to balance their online safety with autonomy. Currently, she advises technology companies on complex issues, including content moderation, telecom regulation, and artificial intelligence. In 2024, she was named Best Delegate at the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy in South Korea, standing out among 40 representatives from 22 countries. In 2023, she participated in the KFAS-Salzburg Global Leadership Summit, contributing to discussions on intergenerational equity. She previously worked as a Legislative Assistant to a Member of the Indian Parliament and drafted a Private Member’s Bill on the Right to Digital Literacy which was introduced in December 2022.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
