Gheida Abdala Omar is a STEM advocate, the founder of the "Girls I Save" technology initiative, and a Generation Connect Youth Envoy at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in information technology at Mombasa Technical University. Through "Girls I Save", she enables young girls to connect with STEM mentors and advisors online while providing a channel to report incidents of violence—effectively addressing issues such as cyberbullying and digital exclusion. Gheida Abdala Omar actively participates in international events such as "Microsoft Imagine Cup" and advocates for the creation of a safer digital space and a supportive policy environment for young people.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
