The World Internet Conference (WIC) held a briefing on the 2026 WIC Asia-Pacific Summit in Hong Kong on Feb 10. The summit is set to take place in Hong Kong in April.

A WIC representative gave an overview of the organization and shared updates on preparations for the 2026 WIC Asia-Pacific Summit. Discussions at the briefing focused on event arrangements and commercial operations of the summit, offering representatives of attending enterprises the opportunity to exchange ideas and provide feedback.

Attendees expressed strong interest and anticipation from Hong Kong-based enterprises and related organizations for the upcoming summit. They said the briefing allowed them to have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the event, with many expressing eagerness to enhance communication and expand cooperation with the WIC in the future.

The briefing was supported by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited, and Phoenix TV. Approximately 40 representatives from WIC member organizations, including China Telecom Global, China Mobile Hong Kong Co., Ltd, China Mobile International Limited, Bank of China (Hong Kong), ZTE Corporation, JD. Com inc, iFlytek, as well as representatives from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited, China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd‌, China Life Insurance (Overseas) Company Limited, HKT Limited, Esign HK Holding Limited, and Threatbook, attended the event. 

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
