On Nov 8, the Seminar of World Internet Conference Think Tank Cooperation Program commenced in Wuzhen. Over 30 think tank representatives and experts attended the seminar, engaging in in-depth discussions on the key topics, activity formats, and expected outcomes of the work of the think tank of World Internet Conference (WIC) for 2026.

At the seminar, director of Development and Research Department from WIC elaborated on the progress and achievements of the Think Tank Cooperation Program (hereinafter referred to as the "Program") in 2025. Regarding the release of think tank outcomes, this year, 13 reports were released at the WIC Asia-Pacific Summit and the 2025 WIC Digital Silk Road Development Forum. These reports systematically analyze key issues such as the frontiers of artificial intelligence technologies, industrial transformation, and the integrated innovation of digital technologies and the real economy, garnering widespread attention and accolades from various sectors. In terms of academic exchanges and visits, the program organized a think tank exchange trip to Germany, engaging in in-depth discussions with experts from the Munich Circle and the National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), thereby promoting academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of the Internet. In the area of collaborative research, the Program worked with various institutions to conduct cutting-edge research, resulting in the study report Promoting Global Digital Infrastructure Development and Bridging the Digital Divide. This report provides practical references for driving international cooperation in digital infrastructure.

Experts and representatives from AliResearch, Beijing Normal University, University of International Business and Economics, International AI Governance Association, Kuaishou Technology, the Munich Circle, Nokia Shanghai Bell, Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC) of Ministry of Commerce, Tencent Research Institute, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, China Mobile Research Institute (China Mobile Think Tank), and Zhejiang Lab delivered remarks.

The attending experts highly commended the work of the Program over the past year, acknowledging its effective role as a platform in facilitating global knowledge sharing and intellectual exchanges within the Internet field through high-quality collaborative research and high-level exchange visits. Regarding the future work plans for the Program, the experts provided practical suggestions and recommendations on potential themes and activity formats to focus on.

A representative of WIC stated that they will actively review and incorporate the experts' suggestions, using them as important references for formulating the 2026 work plan of the Program. Subsequently, WIC will carry out activities such as joint research projects and exchange visits for the partner think tanks  of the Program, to continuously produce forward-looking and constructive research outcomes, and jointly build a platform for academic exchanges and sharing practical experiences in the Internet field.


The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
