The World Internet Conference (WIC) held a press conference in Beijing on Aug 26 to brief the the 2025 WIC Cultural Heritage Digitalization Forum, which will be held from Sept 16 to 17 in Xi’an, Northwest China’s Shaanxi province. 

At the forum, a cultural heritage digitalization case collection will be released. 

Launched through a global call for submissions in July, the initiative received nearly 200 entries from over 20 countries and regions, covering fields such as preservation, archaeology, and exhibition utilization. After expert evaluation, about 40 exemplary projects with high demonstration value will be selected for inclusion in the collection.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
