Speaking at the 2025 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum in Quanzhou, Latif Ladid, founder and president of the IPv6 Forum, commended China's achievements in building next-generation internet infrastructure.
Over 800 million people in China now use IPv6, making the country the global leader, according to Ladid. Data from GSMA shows China also ranks first in IPv6-only deployment in 5G network, he said, emphasizing that this achievement deserves great applause.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
