VIENTIANE -- Laos' Ministry of Technology and Communications will conduct a feasibility study for a project aimed at developing and delivering artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure services powered by green energy.
This will serve as a pilot project for an AI center powered by clean energy, according to a report by the ministry on Monday.
The project involves conducting a feasibility study on the creation of an AI Special Economic Zone covering more than 150 hectares in Lao capital Vientiane, utilizing green energy sources to support the country's digital transformation and strengthen its AI capabilities.
As part of its digital transformation efforts, the Lao government is steadily integrating technology into public administration and services, guided by a national strategy focused on building a digital economy and society.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
