The Secretariat of the World Internet Conference (WIC) convened a specialized consultation meeting on May 30 to solicit input and suggestions for the 2025 WIC Wuzhen Summit, with a focus on agenda development, innovative session structures and event planning.

During the meeting, representatives from the WIC Secretariat shared preliminary plans for this year's summit. Representatives from institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China RISC-V Alliance participated in the discussion, contributing insights on potential sub-forum topics, design of key events, and the expected outcomes of the summit with particular attention to such areas as AI-driven fundamental scientific research and the development of an open-source chip ecosystem.

Attendees also explored opportunities for future cooperation and leveraging their resource strengths to facilitate the implementation of key events.

Since its inception, the WIC has placed great importance on preparations for the Wuzhen Summit. Throughout the planning process, the Secretariat hosts a series of thematic discussions to solicit feedback from members, enterprises, scholars, and civil society groups. These collaborative efforts aim to draw on collective expertise and ensure the summit continues to serve as a premier platform for global digital cooperation and dialogue.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
