AMD: Injecting green energy into semiconductor industry

Founded in 1969 in Silicon Valley and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, AMD is a leading player in the global semiconductor industry. Since 2020, more than 150 universities, research institutions, and non-profit organizations worldwide have received AMD technology through the AMD AI and HPC Fund and STEM initiatives, benefiting approximately 61 million people through scientific research and education. As part of its ongoing efforts to promote STEM education, AMD launched the AMD Learning Labs program, providing students with guidance and hands-on learning opportunities. AMD employees around the world provide mentoring and hands-on learning for students through a variety of programs and events, helping them advance in STEM fields.

Moreover, AMD plays a key role in empowering women in technology. The company emphasizes increasing the representation of women in decision-making positions, and encourages and supports women to enter the tech industry through various training programs, scholarships, and internship opportunities.

The World Internet Conference launched its Distinguished Contribution Award in 2024 to recognize individuals and enterprises that have made outstanding contributions to the global internet sector. The first award ceremony was held at last year's Wuzhen Summit, where seven global leaders and 14 renowned companies were honored.

The award for enterprises is divided into three categories: Social Contribution, Innovation Breakthrough, and Growth Potential. The winners come from diverse sectors, including internet platforms, mobile communications, artificial intelligence, chip design, energy and power, and cybersecurity. The award paints a vibrant and prosperous picture of the global internet ecosystem, encouraging more excellent enterprises to contribute to the development of the internet industry and explore the infinite possibilities of the digital future.
