—Winner of Innovation Breakthrough under the 2024 World Internet Conference Distinguished Contribution Award for Enterprises 

China Telecom Corporation has embraced the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, staying true to its mission of turning China into a cyber power, advancing the Digital China initiative and safeguarding cybersecurity. The company continues to push the boundaries of innovation through exploration and practical breakthroughs.

Technological innovation is at the core of China Telecom's development strategy and a fundamental driver of its high-quality growth. Focusing on four key technological domains, network, cloud and cloud-network integration, artificial intelligence, and quantum/safety technologies, the company has made breakthroughs in the original scientific research related to key technologies such as the national cloud platform, intelligent computing scheduling platform, general-purpose large models, quantum security, and satellite-to-mobile direct connectivity. In 2023, China Telecom received two first-class National Science and Technology Progress Awards and was named an outstanding enterprise for technological innovation among China's central State-owned enterprises.

It has strategically invested in seven emerging industries: cloud computing and computing power, next-generation information and communication technologies, big data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, quantum technologies, and digital platforms. Through these efforts, the company continues to optimize integrated intelligent information products and services that empower industrial development. China Telecom has also developed the Xingchen large model system, with its TeleChat2 model ranking among the top-tier Chinese language models. Built upon the Xingchen general-purpose large model, the company has independently developed more than 50 industry-specific large models across sectors such as industry, education, healthcare, flood prevention, and cultural heritage, serving over 7,600 industry clients.

By leveraging its integrated system for fundamental research, applied technological research and development and operational development (RDO), the company continuously optimizes mechanisms for transforming self-developed technologies into practical applications. The contribution of these innovations to the company's incremental revenue has grown rapidly. In addition,China Telecom led the establishment of the World Broadband Association, a multilateral international platform designed to unite the global cloud-network industry chain and amplify its voice in global technological governance.

The World Internet Conference launched its Distinguished Contribution Award in 2024 to recognize individuals and enterprises that have made outstanding contributions to the global internet sector. The first award ceremony was held at last year's Wuzhen Summit, where seven global leaders and 14 renowned companies were honored.

The award for enterprises is divided into three categories: Social Contribution, Innovation Breakthrough, and Growth Potential. The winners come from diverse sectors, including internet platforms, mobile communications, artificial intelligence, chip design, energy and power, and cybersecurity. The award paints a vibrant and prosperous picture of the global internet ecosystem, encouraging more excellent enterprises to contribute to the development of the internet industry and explore the infinite possibilities of the digital future.


The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
