WIC holds Digital Silk Road Cross-Border E-commerce Training

The World Internet Conference (WIC) Digital Silk Road Cross-Border E-commerce Training was held in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, from April 16 to 18. 

Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the WIC, addressed the opening and closing ceremonies of the training seminar. 

Ren noted that as a new form of international trade in the digital age, cross-border e-commerce injected strong impetus into economic globalization as well as economic recovery and resilience. 

He expressed the hope that participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of cross-border e-commerce, gain experience from various practice cases and apply what they have learned to their work, as they continuously explore a new pattern of cross-border e-commerce and foster international communication and cooperation. 

Participants from 27 countries worldwide gathered at the training, which included courses on the development trend of cross-border e-commerce; related policies, laws and regulations; infrastructure building; comprehensive service procedures; and intelligent cross-border logistics. 

They also attended the opening ceremony and main forum of the WIC Digital Silk Road Development Forum.

Binyam Fikru Kebede, a participant of the training, said that the training has broadened his horizon and deepened his understanding of the building of the Digital Silk Road, international cooperation, digital villages and global sustainable development. Additionally, the training courses covering multiple hot topics of the cross-border e-commerce have facilitated participants' understanding of the global development trend of the industry, the new normal of high-quality development, and international governance system. 

Arkar Htun, another representative of the participants, described the forum and training seminar as a valuable experience. They not only learned about the significance of the Digital Silk Road in facilitating economic growth and cooperation among different countries, but also deepen their understanding of the e-commerce system, measures for promoting high-quality development, as well as risks and challenges faced by the industry.  

At the training's closing ceremony, Ren presented graduation certificates to the participants on behalf of the WIC. 

The training aims to be a platform for improvement of capacity, talent cultivation and international communication, and also inject new vitality into the industry. 

The WIC will continue to carry out capacity building projects on internet talents, digital capabilities and empowerment, artificial intelligence and data, to deepen international digital cooperation, improve the digital capabilities of talents worldwide, and contribute to future internet development.
