With the theme "Connectivity and Shared Prosperity", the World Internet Conference (WIC) Digital Silk Road Development Forum was held on April 16 in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
Big names, including Li Junhua, under-secretary-general for Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations, and Francis Gurry, vice-chair of the WIC, gave remarks either in person or via video link at the forum's opening ceremony.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
