The World Internet Conference (WIC) held its Member Representative Symposium in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on April 15.
Xi'an, the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, will also serve as the host city of the WIC Digital Silk Road Development Forum. Picking Xi’an as the host city will be conducive to inheriting the Silk Road spirit and promoting the co-building of the Digital Silk Road.
The forum will help bridge the digital gap among countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and create a new platform for international economic cooperation, he added.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
