RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia launched on Feb 20 the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center for Media and the Future Camp of Generative Artificial Intelligence for Media.

They were launched by Saudi Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari and President of Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi during the opening of the Saudi Media Forum.

The launches aim to foresee the future development of AI and its applications in media to serve the kingdom's goal of becoming a leading country in the field and to provide high-tech support for strengthening Saudi media's capabilities.

The Saudi media industry contributed 3.87 billion U.S. dollars to the kingdom's GDP in 2023, according to the minister during the forum.

He emphasized the industry's investment in human capital, which generated 56,000 employment opportunities last year and is expected to reach 67,000 in 2024.
