The World Internet Conference (WIC) has left Shen Yang, a professor of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University, profoundly amazed.

As time passes, the WIC has propelled China's internet development and global connectivity, he said, adding that China is at the forefront of digital convergence in the world, deeply combining the internet with various application scenarios of the whole industrial chain in China.

According to Shen, the metaverse concept encompasses three dimensions, namely a spatial internet, immersive experiences, and value-driven interactions on Web 3.0. While its realization requires further technological refinement, it holds immense potential for job creation and societal prosperity, he added.
