2022 Wuzhen Summit
Over the past year, the Wuzhen Summit has transformed into an annual meeting of the WIC as an international organization. Guests now have more channels to participate and the event has wider representation.
We have striven to make the event more innovative, improving the platform for participants to express their ideas, exchange views, and build consensus.
On Nov 9, 2022, the WIC Wuzhen Summit was held in Wuzhen, East China’s Zhejiang province. Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, read out President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter and gave a keynote speech at the summit. Yuan Jiajun, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and then secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, also addressed the ceremony. Furthermore, Zhuang Rongwen, minister of the Cyberspace Administration of China and chair of the WIC, attended the plenary meeting and delivered a keynote speech.
Themed on the concept of aiming “towards a shared digital future in a connected world - building a community with a shared future in cyberspace”, the summit attracted more than 2,100 participants from over 120 countries and regions both online and on site.
