ChatGPT, the latest chatbot with “Generative AI” technology, has gained wide popularity. The World Internet Conference (WIC) will have in-depth conversations with experts from different fields and share their thoughts and predictions on related topics.

Qi Xiangdong, a member of the National Committee of the 14th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, vice-chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and chairman of QAX technology Group, said that ChatGPT is a remarkable achievement, which means that AI has become the core technology of the current technological revolution and has greatly improved productivity.

In the future, AI will form the basic infrastructure of digital society and the economy, and will influence everyone’s life. The combination of AI technology and other products will change the whole of society, said Qi.

Noting that a chatbot like ChatGPT can help people do more complex work to a much higher efficiency, Qi predicted that AI may replace some lower-level programmers and copywriters, but will not completely take the place of humans as it has been developed by humans to assist them in their work.

Qi admitted that ChatGPT may pose a threat to cybersecurity because it can also increase hackers’ productivity.

In Qi’s opinion, people should play a key role in safeguarding cybersecurity, refuting the idea that AI can be defeated by AI.

Qi predicted that China’s cybersecurity industry will continue to boom in 2023, as the increasing applications of big data, 5G and cloud computing will bring about various security risks for all industries, especially when there are more and more innovations of IT applications, smart cities, smart manufacturing and digital enterprises. With the accelerated development of digitalization, the role of cybersecurity will become more important, according to Qi.

Qi said his team is developing specialized safe models like ChatGPT, and has made forward planning in the training of talents, in a bid to meet future cybersecurity challenges by cooperating with ChatGPT-like bots. His team has accumulated abundant security knowledge and data, and is training models with ChatGPT-related technologies. The models can be used for developing security-related products and detecting threats and bugs. In addition, Qi also suggested that enterprises pay attention to the training of cybersecurity personnel who will play their part in important fields like finance, transportation and energy.
