Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the World Internet Conference (WIC), met with Tsai Eng-meng, chairman of Want Want Group, in Beijing on March 28.

Ren warmly welcomed the visit of Want Want Group and thanked them for their important contributions to the development of the WIC as a senior member over the past years.

Ren said that the purpose of the WIC is to build a global platform for extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits in the field of the Internet, and to promote the international community to follow the trend of digitization, networking and intelligence in the information era, jointly tackle security challenges, seek development, and jointly build a community with a shared future in cyberspace.

He extended a warm invitation to Want Want Group to attend a series of activities to mark the 10th year of the WIC Wuzhen Summit, which will be held in Tongxiang, Zhejiang province, in the second half of the year.

Tsai thanked the WIC for its care and support, and noted that the Want Want Group has consecutively organized forums on Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macao Internet development of previous summits and is willing to further deepen cooperation with the WIC and strengthen exchanges.
